In Lockyer's Middle School, Corfe Mullen, The Simpsons is being shown in the year 6 block (10-11 year olds). Here is an essay I wrote about this matter:
The Simpsons:
The Simpsons is a very talked about topic. Some conversations are happy ones,talking about how it is 'humorous';others are somewhat less optimistic. Some people say that it is 'offensive' to them or their family. But what is the right answer?
What It Encourages:
I will start this small. Many of the actions in this horror are encouraging law breakers and polluters of the Earth. They also include homophobes, racism and sexism. It is worse than bad. It is horrible.
Language:
To start,viewers claim that the language is not seriously rude or offensive. But the haters of The Simpsons say that some content has VERY rude language. Things such as c*nt, sh*t, p*ss, cr*p, a*s,b* stard and b*tch have been said on the show,so if people class them as swear words,they should be prepared for some serious swears. But to tell the truth, they are classed as swears. It is unacceptable in a classroom.
Violence:
Violence in The Simpsons is very high-on a scale of 1 to 10,it would be 100. It has scenes of strangulation,murder and other unspeakable actions. This does not send us on the right path in our lives. The most horrible of the scenes, (other than random ones in the different episodes) is the 'Itchy And Scratchy Show!'. It features a cat, a mouse and a lot of violence. The mouse always kills the cat;and it is always in disgusting ways.
Drugs, Smoking And Alcohol:
This is a very serious topic-even though the violence and language are serious,this is the most seen topic in the episodes. In all the episodes of The Simpsons, there is alcoholic beverages. Many of the characters smoke, and in several episodes there's high use of drugs. The viewers say that the use of alcohol is extremely low;and not a-lot of episodes include drugs. But really,who are they trying to fool?
Sexual:
This is the worst. Dozens of the episodes have quite a- lot of sexual content,such as sounds, actions and nudity/skimpy clothing. Whilst the viewers claim that the sexual content is mild,it is very clear it is not. Though it is a cartoon,it is still effective. I cannot go into detail of all the horrible episodes with sexual content in,so I shall just warn you with a picture.
This is not the worst of it.

In a nutshell, The Simpsons will never end as people will continue to enjoy this 'humorous' show. But should this show go on?
About Me:
I have to endure this horror every school lunch; thanks to our obsessed,horrible teacher. We are only Year 6,so this show is way too old for us to endure. He has even bought the new, even more adult-ish episodes for us. Every day,he laughs like a chimpanzee at it, tells people off for laughing like the bully in this show and he has even put up pictures of The Simpsons all over the classroom! Being mature,I hate this show,and I want to be able to eat my lunch normally,not having to be quiet and walking around the smart board to put my lunch-box back. We shouldn't have to watch an adult show at school. We could just watch nothing, like how we use to with Mrs Woodley.
