The school have added additional early releases, which are a 2:30 release on top of the once a month early dismissal that we currently have. With the school holidays, FIS is releasing at noon. This is a petition to the head of school, Mr. Robin Schneider, that will inform him that we, the parents of Fukuoka international school’s students, are requesting the school act to reverse the decision to increase the number of early dismissal and half day next school year.

Updates

June 6, 2023

The administration at Fukuoka International School can no longer pretend this is just a minor disagreement. Robin Schneider needs to understand that we are united in our refusal to accept these constant disruptions to our children's education.

We forgot to add a comment, so we have registered again. We deeply appreciate the teachers' efforts on a daily basis. From our own perspective as a parent, we are not too concerned about the increase in early release, but we think the most important thing is to ask the children for their opinions. We also believe that if the increase in early release will be beneficial to the children, such as by providing more opportunities for teachers to share information and study with each other, then this is a good thing. We think we need to have a dialogue so that we can both agree. In short, our no vote amounts to a vote against increasing early release preemptively, without further discussion.

Early releases are added in each month and if we add that early release time at the end of the year, it is a lot of time. The tuition is increasing every year, and I don’t get why the amount of time and classes that students getting education from school is decreasing. If FIS teachers and staffs needs more times working on different curriculums and school system, I think the school should make their own time to work on that, not using the class time for student. Class time is part of the tuition we are paying for students and for example, the staffs should stay after class to develop and work on school system. I hope and expect the changes on the amount of the early releases.

The school already has too many holidays compared to Japanese schools If teachers need more time then they should work overtime rather than taking students time away. Otherwise the tuition fee should be decreased. I am strongly against the idea to increase the number of early release day.

I would appreciate if early release would be decreased and not increased as it is planned. Instead in early release academic or sports activities should be added.

I think there should be other solution rather increase early release that impact not only children education but households routines.

If Early release is for the school meeting, once a month is enough. Please consider about the learning rights of all students, and parents need more regular school schedules so they can arrange their personal schedules.

I strongly claim that FIS should not have holidays or early release anymore. There are not enough hours for children to study constantly.

Comprar to Japanese school FIS have very less school days. And from that also if they have more early release kids having less academic hours.
