To all the respected Indians,

This is my humble request to all the people to stop the use of words abusing mothers, sisters and daughters. Stop the usage of any word that disrespect woman. If you abuse you are abnormal and need counseling.

Whenever you think about disrespecting a woman, think about how you were born into this world. I believe that respecting a woman is one of the most important things to uphold in life.

Phew! Indians share their forms of abuse. But why is this so? Copulation with the other’s sister is the most common abuse in India. The word shares its formation with our other popular abuse where sister is replaced with mother or daughter.

All human beings hate incest. Oedipus was notorious because of psychotherapist Sigmund Freud. Sophocles’ set of plays on Oedipus is one of the most heartrending creations of Greek literature. Oedipus does not know that the lady he is co-habiting is his mother (or that the supercilious stranger he killed was his father). His suffering when he does find out is such that he tears his eyes out, and his mother/wife hangs herself. So it is absolutely unjust to entitle unintentional attraction towards one’s mother an Oedipus Complex.

Section 294 of the Indian Penal Code lays down the punishment for obscene acts or words in public. ... The law does not clearly define what would constitute an obscene act, but it would enter the domain of the state only when it takes place in a public place to the annoyance of others.

But the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court has held that abusing or using filthy language to annoy someone can be an offence, even if it does not take place in a public place as reported by the hindustantimes.com.

The accused in this case had been convicted by a lower court under Section 294 (obscene acts and songs) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to this section, “whoever, to the annoyance of others... sings, recites or utters any obscene song, ballad or words, in or near any public place, shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend to three months.”

All abuse attempts to dishonor. Abuse is a male weapon, because honor is a male virtue. Most words of abuse are pointed to hurt women.

“A man who treats his woman like a princess is a proof that he has been born and raised in the arms of a queen.”

We're all annoyed by the female abusing words or gaalis. It's going to take all us, joining hands together, to find a way out of this dishonor. Let's start by signing the petition.
