Thank you, Governor Healey, for your activism on behalf of the planet. As you no doubt no, private jets emit more greenhouse gases than commercial aircraft do. The world does not need more private jets. It does need a sustainable future.

In the future we will need to severely limit all but vital air transport if we are to move together along the path to a climate-friendly future

I live in Massachusetts and I urge you to be climate leader, and stop the expansion which only supports and encourages disastrous climate impacts by private jets. Thank you

Luxury jet travel is worse than commercial jet travel and the two together are taking us farther from our necessary green house gas reductions.
Do not expand private jetports!

Private jets, as the Boston Globe pointed out, emit about ten times more carbon per mile traveled than commercial aviation, and on shorter hauls that number is even higher: Flights from New York to Washington, D.C., on private jets are responsible for about 45 times the emissions per passenger of commercial planes flying the same route, and more than 1,100 times the emissions per passenger of train travel to those cities. In our wretchedly unequal society, the number of these flights is growing rapidly, up 11 percent last year. Quoting Bill McKIbben, "This needs to stop."

In today's want of a reduction of noise. air and carbon pollution, Allowing an expansion of private jet use by a few elites at Hanscom will negate any gains made in to reduce global warming in other forms. This is just another example of rules for thee but not for me.

Dear Governor Healey,
Please stop this unnecessary and irresponsible expansion of Hansom Field, which will primarily benefit those who could easily take other forms of transportation. Private jets are the ultimate in ostentatious and needless contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. Th field is already the largest jetport in New England. No need to make it bigger in the face of the Commonwealth's greenhouse gas reduction mandate.
Thank you,
Marilyn Ray Smith
