Please put a halt on Hanscom expansion. The noise and jet exhaust fume pollution are unbearable for the residents. Moreover, this increases pollution to the environment.

Hanscom is fine just as it is, don’t punish neighboring communities, don’t damage forest, water and nature resources that benefit all of us, don’t expand use of hyper-emissions causing private jets when the climate is already in crisis!

Please stop this plan to serve luxury jet owners at the expense of all our climate goals, our people's health, and our fragile environment.

More hangars for wealthy private jets spewing more emissions - how does this help mitigate climate change?

Flights from New York to Washington, D.C., on private jets are responsible for about 45 times the emissions per passenger of commercial planes flying the same route, and more than 1,100 times the emissions per passenger of train travel to those cities. In our wretchedly unequal society, the number of these flights is growing rapidly. STOP SUPER-EMITTER PRIVATE JET EXPANSION AT HANSCOM -- OR ANY AIRPORT! You go, Guv!

As someone who enjoys walking in Great Meadows - and noticing HOW LOUD the jets are, even to me as a human being, and wondering how it is affecting the wildlife - more private jets, in this residential and environmentally unique area, seems like a poor choice.

Gov. Healey: Please continue your efforts to support and protect the environment in our commonwealth. As part of this effort, we urge you to prevent the expansion of private jet use at Hanscom.

Dear Governor Healey - please stop Massport's expansion at Hanscom to increase private luxury jet capacity, this would be disastrous! Best- Walter Gillett, Lexington MA

The health of our planet is just too important to permit such potentially greenhouse-gas-emitting expansion to happen.

I am writing to encourage you to stop the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) from building 27 new hangars for parking private jets at Hanscom Field, which borders the national park commemorating the beginning of the American Revolution. As the Bosto Globe pointed out, private jets emit about ten times more carbon per mile traveled than commercial aviation, and on shorter hauls that number is even higher: Flights from New York to Washington, D.C., on private jets are responsible for about 45 times the emissions per passenger of commercial planes flying the same route, and more than 1,100 times the emissions per passenger of train travel to those cities. In our wretchedly unequal society, the number of these flights is growing rapidly, up 11 percent last year. We have to stop this kind of thing, not build it an extra half million square feet of hangar space.

This proposed Massport expansion goes against all the environmental goals for the abutting towns and our state.

We need to significantly curtail carbon emissions from private jets, not facilitate their expansion!
