This project will be seen as the wrong side of history. How can we implement and commit to the uphill battle of being stewards of our Earth, and also contribute to its destruction with the development of a facility that will effectively erase the work done in Massachusetts? All of the tireless work by advocates and elected officials - just erased by the development of a niche market, exclusive private jet facility? It's nonsensical. Children will look back at those who signed on to this development, in awe of the decision. And, they will shake their heads sadly. It is an easy no. We must re-orient how we think about transportation and transportation accessibility if we are truly committed to the future of the Earth and its sustainability.

Please stop the expansion of Hanscom. Their contention it will reduce traffic makes no sense. Eighteen new hangers can only dramatically impact the historic nature of the surrounding towns including Minuteman National park and add untold amounts of unneeded carbon dioxide and pollutants into the atmosphere. PLEASE help block this.

Residing in Bolton, MA, my wife and I spent over $200,000 doing everything we could to help reduce our carbon footprint including a 15-kW solar array, extensive air sealing and insulation, and conversion of every possible light and device in our house to a green equivalent. Literally the week it was all finished, in early 2022, all the private jets headed for Hanscom started flying lower over our area. So we now have not only a routine intrusion of grating noise overhead, but also an insulting reminder of how the best efforts of common folk are tragically offset by a minority of people indulging themselves with wasteful conveniences--all the while bearing no accountability to either the general public whose purchases sustain their ventures, or to the government whose laws and economic freedom enabled their success. As a chemical engineer with a detailed understanding of climate change, I can assert that private aircraft are among the lowest-hanging fruit that could be chopped to give large emissions reductions while impacting the fewest people. To be considering, by contrast, an expansion of private jet activity is an act of supreme ignorance, apathy, greed, or all of these.

Given the other options for getting in and out of the Boston area, I.e., Logan, I see no reason to expand the services at Hanscom/Bedford. Doing so will increase air, light, and noise pollution, impacting residents of the area who will most likely not use Hanscom. The users of private jets can take commercial flights if they need to be in the area.
