Ernie Trakas is the St Louis County Councilman for District 6. Trakas' County bio states he is a lawyer specializing in areas of civil rights, ADA, the Rehab Act of 1973, and Individuals with Disabilities Act. Monte Nido appears to treat individuals with eating disorders such as Bulimia and Anorexia which aren't disabilities. As 7190 Christopher Dr is in unincorporated St Louis County and has no homeowner's association, few regulations may apply even though the home zoning is residential for a single family residence. Does Trakas already support a zoning change to commercial?

I heard about your effort on today's morning KMOX program. FYI, tax records indicate 7190 Christopher sold 03/31/2020 for $1,359,000. The Monte Nido website lists residential treatment centers with ocean or river views in high priced areas such as Malibu, Glen Cove NY and Eugene OR. Monte Nido is clearly a business. The 7190 Christopher property has 1.48 acres which will substantially more parking for professional staff, support staff and visitors not appropriate in a residential area.

Businesses should not be allowed in Zoned Residential areas. If this is allowed then What is the point of Zoning areas?? More importantly, why does St. Louis County use South County as their dumping ground!! Have you even considered the impact this will have on this neighborhood?? We do Not approve....

NO! This is a short term medical treatment facility. Monte Nido Corp charges patients $33,000.00/month for treatment then on to the next person who can afford it! Not your average person needing help can afford this and a 1-2 month stay has less than a 10% chance of success! They prey on families desperate for help, who have the money to give it a try. You’ve got to be kidding! Believe me, I’m very sympathetic to the needs and treatment of those who need care but not in a residential neighborhood that just don’t work. Nobody on Christopher Dr wants this, nor should Oakville residents allow this. Telegraph is already crazy enough, now we’re extending traffic through our residential neighborhoods, where do we draw the line? I’ve been an Oakville resident since 1966 and seen lots of changes but this crosses the line...

The property should never have been purchased for some type of business. This area is one of the few great residential areas with a great view of the Mississippi river. Please also stop such future nonsense. Christopher road is a residential area to be cherished for generations to come.

Traffic already backs up at Christopher and Telegraph. Please also consider the deadly history of accidents on that road, more traffic especially if unfamiliar will dramatically add to that number!!

I don't believe this is an ideal location for this institution or the community it is planned to reside. I am not comfortable with the planning of this corporation in our neighborhood.

I don't want a commercial business run so close to my home. Though I support the type of work Monte Nido provides, as a parent of four small children, I don't think its appropriate for a residential area with kids, etc. nearby to have this type of business so close.
