Petition to Stop West Elm Street / 240 Greenwich Avenue Apartment Development

I read an article in the Greenwich Time recently about the new project on West Elm Street. I have a small skincare business on Benedict which requires peacefulness for my clients. I am concern about the traffic, noise and size of building. Please reconsider. Thank you.

This developer lacks vision and a clear understanding of how his plans for this downtown/residential block would negatively impact our way of life.

The proposed building appears to be very different from the surrounding area on West Elm. The development site is relatively small for the proposal. The additional traffic and noise will surely be a nuisance.

Every place you look around downtown Greenwich a new building is being wedged into some small spot. If a variance was required, this will likely result in another shoehorn structure that I am not in favor of.

Putting an apartment building in this location will not only adversely affect the aesthetics of our street, but create congestion and a great deal of noise pollution while being built. This will adversely affect the value of the exiting homes. I am strongly apposed to this development!!

Being a small business owner on Benedict Place, I have concerns with traffic and parking situation around this area already congested as it is. I believe these project will add even more chaos to it. Not a good idea at all.

I am against this proposed development in downtown Greenwich. The town is already too crowded and there is too much development - all at the cost of the residence and for the benefit of the developers of which most are from out of town.

Having moved from Jersey City, I can say I'm dismayed to learn of plans that resemble much of the development underway there, albeit with fewer stories. Truly, the plans do not comport with the character of the surrounding area — I have never seen any rooftop activity anywhere here, for example. I'm a newcomer and don't own property as yet, but can say that I came because I valued what so many here do: open space, cleanliness and serenity.

Please read my opposition to the construction of this development during the November 26, 2019 town hall meeting.

Have been a resident/owner for over 25 years. This project has no redeeming life quality attributes. Not in architecture, not in living amenities, i. e. Roof top bbq’s etc will attract noise and smells from cooking. Removal of trees and building to lot line eliminates joy of green space.

Tremendous burden to the neighborhood and existing structures with little return except to the developers.

I would like to strongly protest against this development!

too much going on with already two huge apt bldgs right THERE plus Bennet St in and out across. BAD idea.

Bad idea to add this density at this busy intersection with Bennet St entering plus field point road - not to mention two huge bldgs. adjacent drawing town sewer, water, elec. svcs. Please consider our town!!!!

In addition, the plan for a social roof and the large % of 4 and 3 bedroom rental apartments indicates a dormitory style use
