We strongly advise members of the family have travelled recently or been to the airport, please do not come into the center until the incubation period is over, which can last 14 days.

Our school has students who have recently travelled to China. I am genuinely concerned.

The first is the safety of children!

As leading educators, be leaders for your schools by being proactive in adopting these administrative steps outlined in this petition. This is only a small inconvenience to pay if this can lead to a successful and legitimate process of not spreading this virus amongst our schools. The goal is simple, keeping all our kids, teachers, administrators, janitorial, parent volunteers and all other school staff safe and healthy. For “any” individual who already traveled to, or will be traveling to one of these impacted regions in China and then returning back to Canada. Keep your kids home for the 14-17 day self incubation period, and once this time has passed and deemed in good health. Students can return back among their peers. Also, let me be clear, this is not about targeting a specific group of any kind. All accounts to date from leading medical authorities in China and here in North America suggest this is a very serious virus, and is potentially very contagious and deadly. It has been commented by medical experts in the field that this virus has shown someone with no symptoms present can still be highly contagious to another human being. Let’s all work together in maintaining the health of our schools and our kids.

Something needs to be done to protect the children and teachers. If I was a teacher I'd be scared to go to work, and call sick.

We need to have a strict screening and quarantine period of 17 days as the coronavirus doesn’t show symptoms the first few days. Safety of our children and school staff first.
