Stop the Potential spreading of the Novel coronavirus in schools of York Region, Ontario

Pls do something to prevent the Virus, such as stop to let the people in from Mainland China ASAP.

Parents must report to school if they have friends or family member coming from China or affected countries in advance.

My child attends a school in the GTA and my husband works in one and I think that decision-makers should be proacitve rather than waiting for the novel coronavirus to spread and being sorry afterwards.

The situation is taken too lightly. There needs to be more precautions taken to ensure we contain the virus.

Its very irresponsible to downplay this situation. People who have travelled to China should be in quarantine for 18 days to ensure the virus does not spread.

Don't take risk... no more wait. Please enforce the health screening of the children back to school.

Would like to have update on voluntary isolation for minmum 14days on those student return from China recently before going back school. Case not following the recommeded isolation shall be reported to parent and parent shall have the own discretion of staying their kids at home for the period of potential hidden risk.

To keep our kids and community safe, please enforce some guides lines at school related to travel. If pupils and their parents/grandparents have traveled to affected areas in the recent days, they must stay home for 15days before they go out into their community. Should they become ill during this time, they can seek medical help. Especially pupils should not be allowed to return to school immediately. Pupils should be symptoms free for 15 days before they should be allowed back into the school. Mayor of Markham, please take necessary steps to protect our community from the virus.

Due to Chinese New Year, there will be many case that families and friends will gather in public places. Due to Ontario transportation (airport) are not doing there proper scanning, there will be higher risk for more people get infected. The virus can be transmitted through air, respiratory system (mouth, nose and eyes). The virus is not detectable within 14 days. Healthy people can be caring the virus. 1 person can transmit the disease to 14 people. Now there is 2nd case of coronavirus, I demand York Catholic School board to let children wear mask at school.

Safety of our children and community! Each child should have their temperatures taken before class or prior to any public activities. Sounds a bit much, I think not . If your child is ill KEEP THEM HOME!! To often I see children at school with fevers, runny noses, coughs. Take responsibility.
