UNESCO World Heritage Sundarban of Bangladesh is the natural habitat of famous ‘Royal Bengal Tiger' and the halophytic mangrove forest in the world. This nature’s wonder is under threat because of a recently proposed 1320 megawatt thermal(Coal) power plant to be established near the Sundarban at Rampal,Bangladesh. Despite the long protest march earlier this year to stop the plant and protecting the Sundarbans forest, on July 12, 2016, a contract was signed to finally install the plant.Nature cannot speak but its crying for your help.
As a UNESCO World Heritage,Sundarban is not only a property of Bangladesh its property of Whole World.So please sign this Petition so that UNESCO Director General can take action and Stop this 1320 megawatt Rampal coal Power plant that will generate enormous volumes of toxic waste and leave the forest waterways vulnerable to future hazardous spills.
