The selection of the Common Core (Pearson Envision) curriculum for Stoneybrooke students came as a surprise to many parents. There is increasing concern about the curriculum content, and the impact it is having on our children.
Numerous parents have spoken to administrators communicating their desire for a town hall meeting with the purpose of educating parents and answering the many questions regarding our math curriculum. Stoneybrooke administrators have indicated a willingness to hold a meeting if a large contingent of parents express their desire for such a meeting.
Thus, we have developed this online petition to demonstrate the significant level of interest among parents from all grade levels so that this discussion can take place in an open forum.
Please take a moment to sign this petition and forward this on to any other parents you feel might be interested in such a meeting.

My son comes home crying over his math homework every single night. This new way they teach is just confusing and unnecessary. We need to hear why they switched from the old program.
Our two older kids who have graduated from SB 8th grade have excelled and been in the top high school math classes. They have both maintained excellent grades in high school math and scored high in testing, due to Stoneybrooke's top-notch teachers and curriculum. Most all of their SB friends share in their math success. Because we have seen the excellent results of Stoneybrooke's former math curriculum, we don't understand the change. Andrew (5th grade) formerly loved math, and now finds it redundant and inefficient. Mia's math problems are sometimes unclear and seem poorly written. Because of these reasons, we would like more information on the program and how it would better our children's math future.

WE NEED ANSWERS. Stop ignoring the parents and just hold the meeting already. My daughter is falling behind and the teachers seem just as lost as the kids.
