As my son says who needs to go to Kings Dominion to ride a roller coaster when you can ride it coming through here just to get home. As a resident on Beauregard Drive that has lived here going on 6 years I have yet to see anyone in here repairing our roads yet you don’t mind increasing my taxes on a yearly basis even charging me for a building on my property that I have failed to locate that if I have to pay on it I would love to be using it. Only to call in and report to get your nasty city people telling me I need to do an appeal on an imaginary building that when you call back in to check on status because nobody follows up only to tell me I never filed an appeal that I know I did. Perhaps the taxes you’ve charged on an imaginary building could go to part of the road in our subdivision.

We have lived at Olde South Village fronting on Stonewall Jackson Blvd since 2008. The road has been deteriorating since it was originally constructed and has since been getting progressively worse with sumps, wheel ruts, potholes, alligator cracking and the like. This road needs to get fixed now!

We've lived at 204 Stonewall Jackson for 3 1/2 years. The road was bad when we moved here; it has gotten much worse since. I have made several calls to Steve Yancy and he has promised to make repairs. The last time I talked to him, in 2019, he said that Stonewall Jackson was first on the list for repairs in 2020. This is 2021 and no repairs have been made. I realize Steve doesn't control the money and probably doesn't make the final decision as he has a supervisor that he works for. Those who live in this subdivision have paid many thousands of dollars in taxes and would like to see some return for that money. If this street were in Augusta County, it would have been repaired a long time ago. I do thank Steve for the sidewalk repairs although more repairs are needed on sidewalks and curb and gutter. The Turn-A-Round on Beauregard Dr. also needs repairs.

We have driven up and down - literally - on this main road entering our neighborhood for 3 years and it’s absolutely irritating to bounce through the dips and holes from top to bottom! Please give this your immediate attention!!

This treacherous road is at a gateway to Staunton and an embarrassment to the city. Also please bear in mind city sanitation and DPW crews must navigate this road with city-owned-and-maintained vehicles. I feel for the crews that have to ride on the outside of sanitation trucks as they go up and down this street. Please fix it!

We have lived in Olde South Village for 3.5 years. Since we moved in, the assessed value of our home has increased 12% including the latest assessment notice. In that same 3 year period, some of the homes in OSV have had average increases of 15%, before the latest assessments. The city is regularly increasing our taxes, yet we in Olde South Village are not seeing the improvements we have repeatedly asked for. The condition of Stonewall Jackson Blvd has deteriorated over the 12+ years since it was installed. It is past due the time to perform the needed repair/ upgrade.

The worst road in any new or older subdivision that I have traveled. My friends and family make a comment about the road every time they visit me. It is horrible and could have major impact on vehicles especially if they are lower to the ground due to dips, inclines, manhole covers are raised, and rough patches from certain areas being patched in the past. I have lived here for 11 years and the road is only getting worse each year with no improvements and we are paying hefty city taxes each year. Even though we reside on the outskirts of Staunton, this doesn’t need to be ignored and addressed immediately.
