Crime in increasing in Innaloo, and the WA Police need clear evidence of the persons committing the crimes in order to lay charges.

The driveway and car park between Morris Road shops, Stoner Street and Stoner Place, is a hidden, surveillance free access and escape pathway for criminal activity. Crimes committed in this area include car break-ins, theft, graffiti, drug related crime and illegal dumping. The City of Stirling needs to immediately install permanent CCTV cameras, warning signage and extra lighting in this area to curb the crime rate, assist the WA Police, and make residents feel safe using these areas.

For residents in Stoner Place, the walkway between Stoner Place and Morris shops provides an easy access point for criminal activity. Crimes committed in Stoner Place in just the last month:

  • Theft of a mountain bike
  • Scooter theft
  • Car break-in and theft.

The City of Stirling has an obligation to provide safe public use areas for all its residents. Residents currently do not feel safe due to the increasing crime, and lack of CCTV surveillance.
