Many of us here on the north coast and in the surrounding Humboldt area have identified methamphetamine addiction to be a major problem in our community. It has been recognized by health care workers as an affliction to health, by law enforcement as a calamity of consistent conflict, and by the public as a epidemic of disparity, a safety hazard and a wellness spoiler. But a group of engaged citizens has taken note and are stepping up.
