Stop Grade Leveling

My girls deserve the best and I believe grade leveling is not the way. Praying we can keep our schools the way they are so my children can stay in Dover.

We moved here two years ago because of the schools. We bought property here and do almost all of our shopping locally. We would’ve never glanced this way if grade leveling were implemented at the time. I’ve heard this from two other families who are newer to the area as well. What a rash decision for something that doesn’t even solve the problem. School districts who’ve had to do this usually try every other course of action and look at this together as a communtiy for years before they attempt it, because it isn’t a good option. The lack of transparency, as well as the disinterest in community input by a board that is “representing” us is alarming. The “Dover Difference” is going to be gone when you lose that sense of community we have.

We will end up moving if grade leveling happens and remove our children from Dover.

I do not want 3 of my children going to different schools. There are sooo many reasons I want to stop this grade leveling. We will end up moving bbn if grade leveling happens.

1. We don't have "neighborhood" schools technically right now. 2. We have 25-30 already in the classroom. 3. Yeah in the first few years it may cause friction but in the long run it will be beneficial. I wish they would have had it back when I was in elementary because it would have helped a whole lot when I transition into middle school

We have three boys raised with the "Once a Dover Ave kid, always a Dover Ave kid." Our youngest child is in the 5th grade so grade leveling won't necessarily directly affect our family...but it does my sister, friends, and all the amazing educators within each building. I would love to see a better option.

We, as a community, need to take care of our youth’s education by doing what’s in the best interest of the children. They are the future of ensuring the continued excellence of this community. Thank you all for your time and efforts on this issue.

This division will cause more problems and solve nothing for the budget.

Thank you everyone for working hard to figure alternatives for next school year. My children will be in middle school, but I don't agree with grade leveling. It's not like we are closing a school to save cost. Still will have 3 operating buildings. I hope the board hears the community! Thank you again!

I can’t imagine just the gas cost alone that some families will have trouble with making it to several schools. Not to mention timing. Then children not getting to be in same schools with the teachers long enough to get to know their habits and strengths and passing it on to other teachers. Lack of socialization with kids not their age. Too many students to one teacher. Just a bad idea all around.

Our children deserve better. Other options need to be explored and utlilized.

I believe we need to keep the neighborhood schools as they are!

This choice is going to cause additional friction amongst the city, and in my opinion make it much more difficult to pass a levy in future years than people are thinking.
