The school has seen its outdoor sports pitch (also called the MUGA, Multi Use Games Area) benefit pupils and community members since its opening, and demand has been high.

The sports pitch can be used for football, basketball, hockey, cricket and many other activities. We would now like to increase our pupils' and local people's opportunities in sport by extending the hours of use of the MUGA ptich in the same way that our Adult Community Education Programme has expanded to include hundreds of students who use our study facilities on Saturdays. To do this, the school is applying to Lambeth Planning and we need your support.

At present the school is only able to use the MUGA from 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday and from 9.30am to12.30pm on Saturdays and not at all on Sundays. The same hours also apply to the use of the floodlights on the pitch.

The school had originally proposed hours of use from 8.00am to 9.00pm Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 6.00pm on Saturdays and 9.00am to 2.00pm on Sundays. These hours were drastically reduced by the Lambeth Planning Committee in response to objections from a minority group of local residents. Now we are applying to extend the hours of operation of the MUGA and floodlights to 8.00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and to 4.00pm on Saturdays only.

Please support the community by supporting our campaign.

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by the way people have gathered behind this idea. It feels like the community is ready for these extended hours and seeing that enthusiasm grow is entirely down to the effort you have all put in.

Been waiting years for something like this in the area. Keep the lights on later so we can actually use the place after work.

We need this space open longer. Working parents cant get their kids there before 6pm so what is the point of having a pitch if nobody can use it?

NIMBYs ruining it for everyone again. Just let the kids play

Totally unfair to limit it just because of a few complaints. Sports keep kids focused and out of trouble. Do the right thing.

My son loves playing football here but the hours are so restricted it makes it impossible to get any decent games in. Give the local youth a chance to play.

The kids round here have nowhere else to go. Getting them off the street and playing sport is way better than them hanging about on corners. Open it up!
