Born and raised in Stockport after Bones was taken away from us there is nothing but dingy car parks to skate whenever it is wet out and half of the time we aren’t able to skate in there let alone want to be in there. A new indoor skatepark for Stockport would open many doors and opportunities for people of all ages.

My two sons are keen skateboarders and Bones skatepark was central to their development of their love for skateboarding. Indeed, as a writer I am currently writing a children’s book - amongst other things - about the many weekends we spent having fun at Bones. Such sad news - I’m currently doing some research to help the illustrator of my book - to learn today, that it’s gone. Alex Burston is so correct - young skaters in the area need help to find / fund a replacement. Bones was special.

I managed the Bones skatepark for about 7 years. It truly is a terrible Shame that Stockport no longer has a decent indoor skatepark. I know all too well the great benefit it had on the local community. I fully support this petition.

My son lived at Bones from age 5 (after school and weekends) and learnt to scoot and blade there, really hope this happens and we will support this as much as possible. Good Luck!

It’s a great idea but thought and detail is key. Skateparks aren’t cheap to build or maintain. Bones was good for the community but it was badly maintained because of no ongoing funds - probably why it shut down. If there aren’t that many then the question needs to be asked why?? Money/costs. There are skateparks around - some of the big ones are Alexander in Stockport which has just had loads of money thrown at it, Irlam, platfields, and two Indoor skateparks, Projeckts and Beast Rampz. My sons ride all of them and I’ve even looked into it but didn’t go nowhere because of how much it was. I wish you all the best though:)
