A restoration of a strong Legacy! A rise in School Spirit! The football team was the heart, soul, and spirit of St. John’s Athletics throughout its existence. First ever use of the term “Red Man” was used to describe the fans. The team was well respected, winning many championships and contributing to numerous aspects of the school. They also exceeded much and proved to be a true competition on the field, earning the title of being ranked number 1 in the nation in 1994 (NCAA DI AA). The program was 14-4 against Stony Brook, a school which did not discontinue their football program and have gone to beat many respected schools, like Syracuse.
