Sting was paid a reported £2million by Gulnara Karimova, the daughter of the President of Uzbekistan to play a concert last October in Uzbekistan a country where political opponents are boiled alive and protestors to the regime are slaughtered in the streets. This was clearly to help clean up their image. Sting (and Ronaldo) went despite being warned by a leading campaign group, Global Witness, before the concert that his playing there was innaproriate. He still went and took the money. Small problem is that Gulnara is the daughter of a corrupt tyrant who boils his political opponents alive and suppresses his population - nearly as nice as Saddam.
