I think the most important thing is that an animal protection awareness programme should be implemented at the school, as the court ordered. Could the kids not be encouraged to help out at Mdzananda as volunteers? Give them badges to wear - make it a fun thing, a prestige thing.

As a leader in the community I think he should face the consequences of his action. What example is this for children - shame on our community for not taking this further.

If the staff were told to get rid of the dog, why not contact the SPCA? The principal should have thought of this. Animal care education is definitely needed at this school.

They need to make an example of this man. He is someone children will look up to and follow his example. The cruelty against animals has to stop!

sentence is worthless. What is R3000 and no punishment whatsoever. I am appauled. Dont animals have a right as well. Humans get away with murder in SA.

In no way do the consequences of this crime reflect the severity of it. The courts are a joke.
