All other parts of the UK have their national days, & I think that we in England should do the same & be proud of our heritage.

It will boost our National Identity.
A Bank Holiday that changes weekday like Chistmas will give everyone and opportunity to take part from time to time and gradually increase its importance and be efficient in terms of cost as gradual involvement will enable.

The celebration in every town and village, and by fellow-countrymen living beyond Offa's Dyke, Hadrian's Wall and the White Cliffs, is highly desirable. We need to sustain links with Members of Parliament like Greg Mulholland, Andrew Rosindell, Tom Watson and Norman Tebbit.

Every person in England regardless of race or religion should be proud to celebrate the national day. Being proud of your heritage and national identity does not make you a bigot or a racist. I believe it is high time the people of England showed pride in who they are now, where they have come from and where they are heading. That Saint George's day should become a public holiday would be the best way of showing that pride.

We should celebrate our national day the same way as other proud and historical nations celebrate theirs. Let the world see once again how welcoming and inclusive this grat country and its people are.

It's time to bring our English traditions to the forefront. Recognising St. George's day as a public holiday is a good start.

Horley town council hold a special St.Georges Day event in the town centre every year. I would be more than happy to distribute leaflets on that day!

Make St George's Day a Public Holiday? What possible argument could there be against it?

Yes St George's Day must be
created a Public Holiday and soon.
We need to 'replant the flag' and
spend the day reminding the rest
that we are 'alive and kicking'.
