It is simply wrong that our National Day should not be a Public Holiday.
This needs to be corrected.

although this will not benefit me directly as I am now based overseas, it is something I have long believed should be realised.

we must celibrate st georges day as true english men and women, the day should have always been a bank holiday there is not enough done to celibrate our saint we have bank holidays for all other occasions including royal weddings

It is only right and proper that England should have a National Day - St Georges day, to be held every April 23. To attrain this all 'politically correct' councils and individuals must be swept aside or England will never ever have a National Day to be proud of!

I am sending you a photograph of our church's 19th century banner of St George for your interest and to keep on your files. St Mary's Church, Teddington, Middlesex.
I restored the banner last year and it has been displayed in the church for St George's Day for the first time in many years. We think it was embroidered by a guild of local parishioners at the turn of the century.

We need the government to declare St.George's Day a public holiday and not kowtow to the namby-pambies who think it will "offend" others.
