What can I say... No words can describe how watching that documentary made me feel. Heartbroken is an understatement. It is absolutely disgusting how these people have been treated by 'law enforcement'.

I saw the netflix documentary and read more about this case. I was really surprised that Steven and Brendan were found guilty. Every piece of evidence against these men was successfully nullified by the defence. In my view they were framed.

I am seriously concerned that neither Brendan Dassey nor Steven Avery were given fair trials. Our system is supposed to adhere to innocent till proven guilty. On top of this, it is prosecutors that are supposed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. The judge in both cases seemed incredibly biased, if not prejudiced. I am embarrassed that we live in a system that allows these young men to be incarcerated without the right to a fair trial. The evidence does not even come close to proving guilt... never mind beyond a reasonable doubt. Brendan's first lawyer was criminal and should be disbarred, and his second lawyer did not have resources needed to support his client. The confession was such a sham... utter coercion. Those officers should be in prison and lose their jobs and pensions. How it is that the legislature has not done something to alleviate such a disgusting portrayal of the court system in Wisconsin. I feel very embarrassed that I am a free man today, living in a system that is certainly broken. Law makers need to act now. It could be your own children someday, and I'm sure things would get changed if it was someone with means to defend themselves.

He needs a re-trial. That judge needs to be removed after seeing how biased he obviously was. Fear won out. That jury was afraid to believe cops could alter or plant evidence or to let a presumed killer go.

This case shows everything that is wrong with law enforcement and our justice system. It also shows how poor people have their rights ignored. There is not doubt in my mind that this man was set up. He deserves a new trial.

As an educator of teens with learning disabilities, I am appalled by the treatment of this young man. It is clear to anyone with even a bit of common sense that Mr. Dassey was manipulated and taken advantage of by adults who should have known better. The only way to right this deplorable wrong is to allow him another trial.
