Keep Cornwall beautiful. It doesn't matter what steps are taken to make this building 'blend' in. It will still have a impact on the surroundings.

Coming from Padstow we have a vested interest to stop this from happening. They are growing more than enough lobsters now which I 100% support. But like all organisations, greed takes over. Now they wish to spoil a lovely stretch of coastline enjoyed by locals and visitors. As many have said before, this will come first but what comes next? Leave the coastline alone!

This is the only unspoilt part of Padstow, everywhere else has been sold off for the sake of the tourists, I would like it to stay that way for my children and future generations to come. Why spoil such a beautiful place.

I OBJECT to this application on the grounds of, its not all about lobsters!
Existing wild life and flora need protecting. The quarry and surrounding areas are full of wild life that should not be disturbed. There are rare and threatened plants, along with a huge amount of insects and animals including birds and bats. The tracks and paths leading to the area are also going to be under threat from major construction work that will be needed for this project. There is no road only a track leading to the quarry but this is only suitable for 4 wheel drives. Local volunteers that man the lookout point at the top of the quarry park their cars and walk to the station. So a road would have to be made in order to get the materials on site for this construction. There is no way of hiding the road it is what it is, a scar across the landscape. The road stops at Hawkers cove, it is a dead end. Parking and passing on these narrow roads can sometimes be difficult. Parking is also a problem with only resident parking available, Signs have been displayed for years saying private parking, no turning beyond this point and dead end, but needless to say there are cars parked there that are none residential. This problem will only get worse once the attraction is in place. The nearest car park is at the farm and open for 6 weeks of the year, even when parking is available there are still cars parked on the verge making passing dangerous , not only to the road users but also the public that park there. I have grown up at Hawker’s Cove and my parents still live there. Over the last few years there has been a considerable influx of traffic on this road. Steppers point is a very remote location, and I really don’t believe that it is suitable for this project. It was once a working quarry but nowhere in its history has there been a road to it, only a track. Stone was removed by train and then lowered into a boat when the quarry was in use. Cornwall County Planning Policy opening commen on their web site is ''The planning system plays an important role in helping protect the environment in our towns and cities and in the countryside''
Let us hope the planning sustem does play this important role...
Having been on this estuary for more than half my life and professionally selling the benefits of such a fantastic unspoilt coastline I am shocked that someone could consider such a develpoment in this spot in the 21st centuary. I wonder if there is a plan to get planning in principle then re apply for something more commercially attractive within the same use class order or was I born yesterday.

This is a stunning unspoilt area of outstanding natural beauty. Any development would intrude on this wonderful headland. The proposed lobster hatchery or any other development would have a devastating effect on the wildlife and fauna of the area and be a true blot on the landscape.
