Allan Dorman goes on record calling taxpayers within his township of Islip "clowns". Is this the type of Public Employee we want in office? Surely his comments show his disrespect for citizens/taxpayers of our Town, within our County.
This is a call for action to have this public servant, Allan M. Dorman step down from office. His comments are not one that should represent Suffolk County employee who in the end, works for us 'clowns'.

During the meeting, Dorman referred to nonresidents who opposed the casino as “clowns.” quoting "“After the smoke clears and all the clowns have gone home, we’re still going to be here,” Dorman said.
Furthermore, he isn't even paying attention to his own residents:
Many casino opponents said they felt ignored by village officials.
“I think the residents of the village are not even being considered,” Fran Pekor said outside the meeting room during the meeting.
“I didn’t come to the village of Islandia for the money,” Steven Buckley said. “This is a community, not a business enterprise.”
Village resident Rosemary Speciale, who supports the casino, said some opponents are misinformed.

The volume of support has reached a level that allows us to formally request a meeting with the town board. I am currently drafting a letter to the officials to ensure these concerns are delivered directly to their desks.

A public official should not use disparaging remarks to any citizen, public official or organization.
This would be terrible for Islandia, the town of islip and all of suffolk country. We are not clowns we are worried about the quality of life here and our the future of Suffolk county for our children.
He is a public servant, who seems to be feeding at the trough of the special interests group. Double dipping much??!!... Vote him OUT!!
He is disrespectful to his residents and he hides behind the veterans. He is despicable.
How dare this PUBLIC SERVANT call taxpayers clowns. total disrespect for citizens. he needs to go.
He has to go. He was good in the beginning but has changed, and not for the better
He's got plans for more than Jack's 58. He wants to put another Casino where there are residential houses just north of the gas station at the NE corner of Old Nicolls and LIE service road WB. I drive Old Nicolls a few times a week, and can see two large lots he's overseen turned to weeds already, the stables (used to be a very inviting property), that used to be on the bend between 495 and 347, and now that park south of the LIE which has been taken out of commission for much longer than any other park I can remember (even the one with the Asbestos and Housing debris, Roberto Clemente). His pet project for veterans was built on the same debris, so that should tell you a little bit about this guy and his concern for anyone else but himself and his buddies. This doesn't seem like someone who shows any pretense of caring about the residents.

Healso violatesOpen Meeting Laws by insisting members of the public show ID and denied entrance to me because I would not show him my id despite having the law printed for him. Further, he violates OML by not providing a venue large enough to allow the general public to attend the village meeting. Finally, he's disrespectful to his community and despite their feelings on the casino (an overwhelming amount of whom are against it) he's choosing to make sweetheart deals - which may not benefit the community. (And let's not get into the nepotism in the village!
