Prices will crash for this. No-one will pay a decent price for something they have to wait 7 days for. This means less profits for you on the market, and a massively upset community that's lost probably 10's of million of $'s in-game items.

This was one of those ideas that seemed like a good idea, but nobody really thought it through all the way.

This forces people to have another device with Valve software installed on it in order to use a feature offered by Valve. Not a good idea.

Say NO to 'Escrow'! This is the worst idea Valve has ever had. Yes, there are a few problems with the trading system but implementing this new 'security measure' will make things worse - FAR worse!

I have been trading for quite a while, and I don't have any problem with the security measures already in place, but this puts it over the line. I have the email confirmation on because I like having that extra step to keep me from messing up, but having to have a smart phone to do any trading is rediculous. Extra security options NEED TO BE OPTIONAL. If someone doesn't use it, its their fault if anything happens, valve doesn't have to take any responsibility for it whatsoever. Email verification is one thing because its free and easy to use, but smartphones is a whole other ballpark. Smartphones aren't cheap, and neither are the service plans you have to get to use them. This is not a viable option for many players. Valve, if you keep this new 'security' feature up, you will loose my business, and like many many others.
