This is a rather silly thing to implement, I know that 'trading scams' happen all the time, that is mainly due to people not being smart. Vavle and many other companies should not force this kind of update, it should be on the people trading items to handle their own transactions if they are doing them with another person.
Also as I do not own a smart phone, nor will ever this will hurt not only me but also a great deal of people who can not afford a smart phone, or do not wish to buy one in the first place.
I like being able to have the free choice of trading and not be stuck with the hassle of waiting how ever long it takes to make sure I'm not getting 'screwed' by the other party I'm dealing with.
Also it will indeed ruin communities based solely on trading, they have made it so much faster and easier to trade and it would be a shame if they were destroyed because of something like 'Escrow'

I can understand why this is a good idea, but I do not think that it should be forced to have it on. It's good feature used in the wrong way.

Valve went full stupid, this will impact TF2 and CSGO so much that I'd not be surprised if the playerbase was halved over night. GJ Valve, really GJ!
