As a long-standing user of Steam Trading since it's inception through the TF2 Trading System, I highly disagree with Escrow. By eliminating bot usage through mandatory account authentication, and having valve become a middle-man by holding items it deems "unsafe", it makes the whole process even more of a chore than it already is. If they just implement better account security (perhaps an email confirmation on trades and ways to report if trades were done without permission), or maybe an OPTIONAL security feature, like requiring a separate password for trades and such. Not to mention, sites such as TFWarehouse will be unable to function, since all the items will be locked in Escrow, and since there are no humans to monitor the trades, it'll be stuck there. I appreciate valve trying to find more ways to secure our purchases, but if they interject as a middle-man, then it will complicate too much, and the cons will sorely outweigh the pros.

This is a poor skeleton of an idea and is far more harmful than helpful.
You don't even have to buy a phone to use the authenticator, you can install it on BlueStacks and have multiple instances running on a single machine.
Don't kill the community sites that were built on community trading.
Valve... you can do better than this.

Escrow should consist of waiting for items for maybe about an hour or two. Unless those two acc. are linked to the same email and then trading should be instant.

I have been an avid CS:GO Trader since the Arms Deal came out. I have traded and bought my way from a 20$ inventory all the way to 6200$, and now valve is going to make all that a waste of time and money.
