I think this is just redicilous. This could destroy the trading community, without even meantioning its current stage. Its horrible, yes, but that does NOT mean that this should be added. There are enough tutorials on Steam to watch out for scammers, phisers and such.

This will hurt the economy very badly and will make trading a totally unbearable wasteland.
Dear Valve, you should really stop making mobile authenticators the only way to go around since not everyone are lucky to have a phone and which will also crush the communal economy whole.

Steam has a perfect system in place for account security however they need to take a step back and realize they are going to hurt the trading community that "supports" them if they implement a system like this. Instead they should focus on Comp for TF2 to save their game while making a "few" more million - Corvus

It is not only that I do have a smartphone, but it doesn't work due to it not being the more expensive one.
So, am I, and many others, supposed to be just lucking out due to Steam being incompetent with their phone app?
Besides, many trade sites, trade bots, everything, will just crash and burn. Trading will die, or at least be VERY cripples.
