I honestly think this new steam Escrow thing is total Bs. A good portion of people don't have smart phones or devices that are compatable with steam mobile. I don't even have anything that is compatable with steam mobile.

Why can't I authenticate to email? email is more secure than a phone. My email requires a password that's longer than 50 characters, and you can get physical authenticators. The assumption that the user is in control of their email account is a valid one. Please don't make me buy a crappy smart phone just for this.

This is absurd, Steam should not force this upon players, Just to add security, clearly steam just wants profit out of this endeavor, but clearly it will lower profit and hurt the community market.

This is bad. I would be willing to buy a physical device that's an authenticator, but I don't have a smart phone and I'm never going to buy one.

I do not want to be forced into this trade, and I do not want to be blackmailedé to do so. Sure mobile authentification as an alternative "option" to e-mail is cool. But getting a penalty for not using it? That is extorsion.
