Both the House and Senate have passed versions of health reform. While neither bill is perfect, either bill vastly improves the status quo, providing insurance for millions and placing our country on a more stable fiscal path. However, health reform is threatened by skittish and craven Democrats who assume their prospects for reelection are better if they fail to enact reform. If these Democrats can't be persuaded by moral obligation, at least let us show them the folly in their political calculation. Failing to enact reform is an abrogation of the contract with the Democratic electorate for which Democrats -- and millions of insured -- will pay dearly.
