Outdoor schools! We need more options. Distant Learning is not realistic nor is it equitable no matter how much they try. Parents need to work!

As a former school leader, I am bummed that BUSD revised DL plan is simply biz as usual online. With two households including one who’s a middle school teacher in BUSD, I’m not sure how we’re going to adhere to the schedule for our incoming Kinder. Oh, plus work!

As a single parent who does not have the option of working from home, BUSD’s plan leaves us out entirely. We are leaving BUSD and now I’m wondering how many other families this schedule is leaving behind. How many other BIPOC families is BUSD losing this year?

My daughter's request, "I just want to be treated like a human being." Please make sure our kids are heard and are not just receptacles for information. Thank you.

Young kids need interaction and play to learn. Without it many struggle including my own kids.

I'm a mother of 3 kids and I found it so hard to follow such a strict and full schedule

I’m the parent of a child entering K at TO. I’m currently not employed outside of my home, but also have a younger child and even with my degree of privilege it wouldn’t be possible for me to support that much online instruction, and my son would hate it, and it’s just not developmentally appropriate.

This is exactly what parents are thinking. Thank you for creating this online tool.
I would add: Prioritize K-5th for returning to campus with in-person instruction! If BUSD can have a childcare on campus it for sure can have in person instructions.
Also, develop a "back to school plan " and let parents know about it. There will be a lot of things to consider getting back into school when the time comes. There needs to be a tired approach with good guidelines.
