The old House Chamber in our nation's Capitol is National Statuary Hall where each state can place two statues of "deceased persons …illustrious for their historic renown or for distinguished civic or military service.” There are one hundred statues in National Statuary Hall, ninety-one of which are men. Ohio has established a Committee to select a worthy Ohioan to replace William ‘Earthquake’ Allen who was commemorated in Statuary Hall in 1887. Please sign this petition and request the Ohio Statuary Hall Committee and the Ohio State Legislature select a WOMAN to replace Gov. Allen. The ommission of women from our nation's history has to stop.
Its about time. Women have done just as much for this state and deserve to be represented in DC. So many amazing Ohio women have been ignored for way to long.
