I am an American
I am an individual
I am not my gender, race, sexual orientation or marital status
I am not my religion, social status, economic status or class
I am not the inner-city, high-rise, suburb or rural area in which I live
I am not a racist, sexist, xenophobe or homophobe
I am not the car that I drive, the house that I live in or the cloths that I wear
I am not liberal or conservative
I am not a caricature or a myth
I am an American
I am an individual
I believe in the integrity of the Constitution and Bill of Rights to guard my liberties
I believe I have an ownership stake in the success of America
I believe in my God-given abilities to provide for myself and my family
I believe I should be able to keep most of what I earn
I believe I must take personal responsibility for my failures
I believe I should be personally rewarded for my successes
I believe government can’t nor shouldn’t attempt to guarantee or determine either
I believe that the American spirit is alive in the spirit of those who believe these things
I believe our leaders and elected officials ought to exemplify the American spirit
