I have served three terms on the legislative council and feel it allows for great diversity and quality discussions about core issues facing NCA and our discipline. To collapse that structure down to an elite few NCA continues to move toward a path that ultimately will greatly damage its future and the influence of our discipline on a national and international level. Not everyone views the discipline from the D. I research university perspective and I believe when NCA collapses its administrative and legislate structure that clearly is the direction they seek to move toward.

The proposed changes need to be opposed since they convert a democratic association into a typical Washington DC for profit style trade group advocacy organization that largely exists to find its own staff. No need to convert NCA into an "NRA" style operation!

Thank you for taking a leadership role in voting down the NCA bylaws changes that would eviscerate the Legislative Assembly and replace it with a smaller, less representative body. I believe that the tactics used to get these bylaws approved at the Legislative Assembly meeting in 2013 border on intimidation rather than reasoned democratic deliberation. I agree that the bylaws changes go to far in curtailing the powers of the membership. Thank you again for organizing this petition. I hope we can stop this for the sake of preserving NCA as a democratic body.

The proposed structure takes decision making authority away from the Legislative Assembly in the names of efficiency and decorum. Please say no to the neoliberalization of our association!

I cannot support policy that potentially decreases diversity that is already scant in the organization. I do not believe we have had enough of a chance to deliberate on this matter and cannot swiftly move to support the new bylaws.
