We need to be more proactive than reactive.

Our property is surrounded by both the Santa Monica Mountains National Park, and the Topanga State Park. The accumulated brush in both the State and National Parks near our homes poses a severe fire danger. We ask that the organizations responsible for brush clearance and forest management in these parks step up to their responsibility and commit the resources to getting this done as quickly as possible.

We need prevention of fires. It makes more sense to use monies to prevent rather to fight fires after the fact. Clearing brush and adding a water guzzler plan is prevention.

Although it is right to expect government to work for the people, in California, the people work for the government. The unintended result of supporting this will be government telling us they need more money. Unfortunately, that argument is false as the issue is not resources but how the resources are prioritized. One example: A train for a few or water for everyone?
