The school district Superintendent is exploiting the NJ state mask mandate language and caving to a non-scientific dialogue that has unfortunately found a voice in West Milford.
The welfare of students and teachers are secondary to sound bites. The superintendent’s office is maintained as an impenetrable fortress, from which directives can be issued without any concern of placing himself in harms way.
They are utilizing the “excessive heat” excuse for removing the mask requirement during opening week where temperatures are forecast to peak in the low 70s . The safety concerns of teachers, staff and students should be paramount in these decisions, not catering to a bullying fringe.
It is no wonder teachers are leaving the profession in droves.
Stop looking for excuses to dodge your responsibility and stand up for your school and community’s health and safety.

It is our duty as a community to help and protect one another - the carelessness of our educational leadership is appalling. It’s very simple; do the right thing - protect our babies and their teachers!

So any child with a health concern should be ostracized and not allowed in school and forced to home school? It’s public school, not private school so think for once about others instead of being self centered. Lucky you that you don’t have any health issues but please don’t poison others with your elitist mentality.

The whole mask mandate is bs. Take your kids out and home school. No critical race theory either.

Wear the right masks and it is never a problem. I’ve been wearing a mask all day, every work day for over a year. It can be done. Stop making this political and remember what is important - the health and safety of our families, teachers, friends, community. Wearing your mask should be like wearing your shoes. Protect your feet? No problem. Protect your health? Why is that such a problem?

As a former teacher I strongly disagree with the no mask policy. The safety of the students and school personnel is of the utmost importance and masks provide that protection.

This superintendent has violated the trust that the community placed in him. Last year, he made many irresponsible decisions about the health and safety of our kids. He needs to understand that the Governor has not excepted him from the mandates of the state of New Jersey. It is imperative that Superintendent Anemone recognize the will of the People and of the State.
