“The authority of the Government emanates from the People.”
We, the People of Cebu, voted you into Office not once, not twice, but three times. In light of recent politically-motivated events that have not only disturbed the peace of our beloved Province but have bastardized our democracy, leaving many Cebuanos perturbed, we are firm in our resolve to stand by you and to embolden you to defy the illegal suspension order.
Is Cebu now under MARtial Law? SugboTV, the provincial news channel that informs our fellow Cebuanos in the islands and towns and all over the world that their Government is working for them, has been forcibly shut down. Ordinary Cebuanos who wish to visit the Capitol to voice their stand are being illegally searched and prevented entry, and if allowed entry, are being harassed by armed Police. The internet at the Capitol has been cut off.
Perhaps the powers that be wish not only to silence the Governor and the People of Cebu but to keep from the world these flagrant and brazen violations of our constitutionally-protected rights.
We will never forget this affront on Cebu, not this 2013, not this 2016. Never.
Under your leadership, Governor Gwen, Cebu has become the Number One Province in the Philippines. We are debt-free. We are insurgency-free. Our economy is robust. There has been a renaissance of Cebuano culture and heritage. Our pride as Cebuanos burns bright like never before.
Now, in their Lust for Power, they wish to remove you – our validly elected Governor – from the very Office to which we installed you. They wish to remove you not in accordance with our laws, but through means that defy due process.
They wish to remove you not because you were corrupt. Not because you committed some heinous crime, but only because you implemented the Provincial Budget approved by the Sanggunian, which is your duty. The very same Sanggunian of which the Vice Governor who now wishes to unseat you, was a member.
And how particularly cruel it is that those who Lust for Power have orchestrated this travesty at Christmas-time. How un-Christian. How un-Cebuano.
Cognizant of the foregoing, may we remind you, our beloved Governor, that it is incumbent upon you to defend and protect the mandate that we have given you.
As you stand steadfast for Cebu. We, the Cebuanos, stand with you.
The situation at the Capitol remains tense and they are actively trying to suppress our ability to communicate. I am working to get our message directly to the local news desks today so keep monitoring this page for links. Send an email to your local representative demanding they condemn the shutdown of SugboTV immediately.

Politics at its finest. Trying to take down a leader who actually fixed our debt. Sad.
