1. Proposed ACPS School Board Policy Addition to ALEXANDRIA CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS ENERGY CONSERVATION AND BUILDING MANAGEMENT REGULATIONS (FA-R): Section: Water (insert language below into the ACPS Water Policy #4).

1. Proposed VA State Legislation: “Each local school board shall develop and implement a plan to test and, if necessary, remediate mold from sources identified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as high priority for testing, including insulating pipes inside walls, thoroughly cleaning and replacing filters for HVAC units, identifying the source of damage to ceiling tiles, immediately repairing roof leaks or any other sources of food or moisture leading to fungi growth. The local school board shall give priority in the testing plan to schools whose school building was constructed, in whole or in part, before 1986.”
