Bowfishing for this iconic species is a complete waste of a valuable sportfish. More and more people are seeing the fun in catch and release fishing for alligator gar and if we're not careful the population could crash and future generations won't have the privilege of fishing for them.

People who think Alligator Gar are nothing but 'trash' fish have never taken the time to study the facts. Humans have caused far more destruction to our fisheries than a Gar ever could. The Alligator Gar is a NATIVE fish, that MUST be protected. PROTECT THESE AWESOME PREHISTORIC FISH!
