Stand with Texas to protect the Alligator Gar from overharvest.

These trophy fish need all the protection they can get. Whenever the harvest of a resource is unregulated or under regulated, the resource always suffers.

I stand up for the conservation of alligator gar and all other true gar. I will even breed them for state reintroduction.

Please consider conserving this species before populations are in dire need of conservation. This is the less expensive fix.

Gar are unique and need to be treated as a game fish. They deserve respect for being a tough formidable fish without peer.

Save the alligator gar! It's my favourite fish, and we have to keep it from extinction!

Bow fishing is for losers who can't catch fish on rod and line.

I owe alligator gars and all other gars my career. They were the subject of my PhD thesis. I owe the TP&W a lot, they gave me my first job. I fully support efforts to limit the harvest of this magnificent species and suggest banning bowfishing for them. Gars roll on the surface. There is little or no sport in bowfishing for them. Fish in a barrel IMO.
