It's time we start protecting our native wildlife instead of killing it just because it's not pretty to look at. I'm signing in support of conservation of this amazing fish.

Please be a STEWARD of our resources v.s. letting thoughtless anglers become the grim reapers, killing everything in sight!

Its incomprehensible to me we can pick out individual species and claim it a trash species, one that does not belong in the perfect mathematic pattern that IS this planet and the amazing balance of life and death found here. WE are the only species not working toward the greater good of the planet, the only species operating outside of that perfect balance. instead of finding our place and coexisting in a good way we seek to find fault in this planets species, who are just doing their part perfectly. This planet gives us everything. And still we decide to take everything we can get, we take what we need, we take when we need it and when we DONT, and we dont replenish. We dont even try to find our place on this planet. We take and destroy and blame the planet that gives us life for the very things we cause. The single most important thing our generations can do is to slow down the destruction of the natural processes this planet has in place that keep life going. We have to find a way to be better for ourselves and for this planet.

These fish deserve so much more respect than we give them.

Ancient mysterious creatures have been on this earth longer than Humans. Yet here we are jeopardizing their very existence in a comparatively short time. Please preserve the Alligator Gar so we both can have a future.

Bowfishing should be limited to invasive species such as carp. Alligator gar is a native, which also is not consumed by most people who kill them - usually throwing them back dead or even simply badly injured in the water, or in a trash bin. In the conservation based country that the USA is, this is surprising to see no better protection have been given to this prehistoric fish specie. I welcome and support rules changes in Texas and anywhere else for this specie.

As a professional biologist with many years of experience with stock assessment, conservative harvest strategies are needed for long lived species, especially the Alligator Gar. I support the proposed rule changes.

This is an extremely important issue. Unfortunately most of the people who know about Alligator Gar are the people needlessly killing them.

A wonderful creature should be saved by catch and release

I support evidence-based modifications to gar-fishing regulations that will sustain this important top predator in its Texas range.
