Seriously? This is common sense. Confederate represents racism, the rainbow represents inclusion and gay rights. Don't be that school.

I'm colorblind, literally, and I can still see this rainbow and know that it stands for everything I do

The rainbow symbolizes love and unity. The Confederate flag was the Battle Flag of states who rebelled against the United States of America and lost. They rebelled in the name of slavery and white supremacy. The calculus here is very simple. Keep the rainbow, lose the Battle Flag.

Hendrix is a Nazi, tell her to stfu and get over it. All y'all who are offended can man up. But I bet y'all she wouldn't be offended if someone in that town walked around in black face. Ass backwards town.

The confederate state LOST, it's goal was to LEAVE the United States, in order to keep ENSLAVING BLACK PEOPLE. Their flag is a disgrace and a display of violent attitudes. The pride flag is about wanting to be safe inn an existence we didn't chose to begin with, and to be allowed to be ourselves, free from violence and bigotry. Queers did not keep other humans as livestock, we didn't commit genocides, we didn't murder out of prejudice. How this difference misses some people is baffling, and rings of selective ignorance. Let Logan pain a rainbow on his space!

The LGBT pride flag is not a symbol of hate.

The pride flag is a symbol of love and equality. You should as a school be embracing this expression, especially considering the higher risk of bullying, ostritization or self harm and suicide LGBTQA students face. Do better for them.

There is NO reason to acquiesce to homophobia. Kids like Logan deserve the full support of his school and his community.

No matter how you look at it--making him paint over this is WRONG! Adults involved in this situation should be ashamed!

If any parking spots need to be painted over it should be those containing religious propaganda, not those expressing their identity

Intolerance is never acceptable, and in some cases, is also illegal. I had hoped that Marion was better than this, and I am disappointed to learn hate still flourishes in a place I grew up loving and feeling safe in. Perhaps that is because my identity did not visibly differ from the norm, but the "norm" should not be the only group that enjoys that privilege. Principals, superintendents, school board members: your role is to support students' growth, exploration and safety, I'd like to see that applied that to all students!
