Stand Up For Small Businesses - Sign SB197

I have owned my store for 46 years and have always played by the rules. The thought that I am going to lose all of this in a short period of time seems so unfair.

I think this is the best possible bill that all the pertaining parties can share their interests and survive together, so please sign it and make it a new liquor law for the State of Colorado!!

This Bill is a compromise between the goals of the large grocery businesses and the needs of the smaller family run stores. It will at least allow for the families and their employees to maintain some control over their immediate futures rather than having the carpet yanked out from underneath. Please sign the bill. Please sign bill SB 197 Gov. Hickenlooper. It is the best compromise to protect Colorado jobs, protect the investment of time and money that small business liquor store owners have in their stores and still provide the citizens of Colorado with a wide selection of choices in alcoholic beverages.

Please sign SB 16-197. We have been small business owners in Colorado for the past 20 plus years and have benefitted from the small business friendly environment. This bill provides a way for us to get value for the liquor license that we payed for and have operated under. We are right next to a King Soopers and if we do not have this protection; we will be out of business overnight. We will lose our hard earned investment and our employees will lose their jobs. This bill is the only way to ensure the mid to long-term survival of locally owned liquor stores, of which I am an owner of one.

Please sign the bill into law, the grocery stores and multiple licenses are coming whether we like it or not. This bill buys us some time and gives a little value in our licenses for he time being. It's better than the possibility of losing at the ballot in November and facing immediate competition from hundreds of grocery stores who just want to bury liquor stores.

This is the best way to save jobs and give the small business owners that are committed to Colorado a chance!
