24th Jumâdal Ulâ 1435   URGENT CLARIFICATION   1.          The message contained in the i-petition is inaccurate and very misleading.   2.          It was originally contended that SANHA’s complaint was dismissed. This is obviously false and inaccurate because the hearing date has in fact been set down for 23 April 2014 by the BCCSA. The petition and the comments made is nothing but a ruse on the part of certain individuals to malign the integrity of SANHA.   3.          SANHA’s complaint to the BCCSA, which is a Complaints Commission of the media broadcasting industry, was submitted to secure its right to respond to accusations and slander which was being regularly broadcast on Cii Radio. The complaint is against Multichoice.   4.          Please do not be swayed by misinformation and disinformation circulated by some quarters.   5.          SANHA has approached the BCCSA regarding the broadcasts of Cii which were regarded as defamatory and inflammatory to which the immediate right of response was not given nor were any remedial measures taken against the perpetrators of these actions.    6.          Note that Multichoice is a signatory to the BCCSA’s Code of Conduct and thus are not being ‘taken to court’ nor is a judge being asked to rule on Islamic matters.    7.          It was brought to SANHA’s attention a few days ago that should a ruling be made against Cii by the BCCSA, then it may lose its right to utilise the Multichoice platform which it currently enjoys.  Since this ‘side-effect’ is not an outcome preferred by SANHA as being in the interests of the Muslim Ummah, we have submitted a settlement agreement to Cii to which we await their response.   8.          We trust that this clarifies matters for the Muslim public.  We urge everyone to exercise their right to intelligent thought processes and not be swayed by emotional outbursts from parties who sway from side to side to create confusion division.     May Allah Protect us and Unite

everyone is entitled to an opinion. the fact that sanha is so defensive makes one wonder what are they hiding. normally when eating out we use the sanha certificate as the gold standard of halaal. this action of theirs make me doubt them too. south africa needs one united body that has the best interests of the Muslim population at heart. its sad to see that even amongst our ulema there is a power struggle for fame and glory.

Mufti not affording Sanha and opportunity to discuss and clarify themself equally via an on air platform - is completely false and a blatant LIE! Numerous times Mufti mentioned on air that they are welcome to discuss this, he has nothing to hide or gain - but his main concern is the Ummah consuming Halal, and prior to the case, Sanha refused any amicable settlement with cii on a 1 to 1 basis - this the cii management can attest to themself!

Abdul, you fail to verify the facts and come onto a public platform with biased and false info. Do you personally know Mufti AK and have experianced such arrogance from him? I personally have interacted with Mufti, and ur accusations of him are unfound and false, and many out there can vouch the same. Or is ur statements based upon pure "heresay"?! How about we call up Cii management to speak for themself? Or have they appointed you to come online here and speak on their behalf? Stop playing the man, and play the ball - focus on the matter at hand.
