Anonymous, They told me after the petition was made. The petition worked. By all means I'd love for the court to include men but that is not my fight. I will stand behind any man who decides to head that movement. If you believe that no one cares, then I and this petition should hold no bearing with you.

1. The administration told you that you were permitted to wear a suit and no one cares. It is unclear why this petition is still posted. 2. The "all female" high school homecoming court itself is the epitome of the sexual inequality that exists in our society. If you really wanted to take a stand against gender roles, you wouldn't have accepted a spot on a "females only" court. Whining about your outfit doesn't prove anything about gender roles when you are choosing to be part of it.

My school has similar issues as far as individuality goes. I hope this petition makes a difference

The right to one's dress is their OWN. Of all of the immense freedoms we have fought for in America, this should be one, too.

Is this even an issue in 2016?!?! Come on administration, we have bigger fish to fry in this day and age. This is incredibly disappointing.

A note to my Alma Mater: Mardi has grown into the young person she is in part by your influence. Mardi is a true leader, respected by her peers, and elected to home coming court because of who she is. Red carpet pant suits have been celebrated when worn by today's celebrity youth including Zendaya and Emma Stone. If those names don't ring a bell with you, I bet these will. Jennifer Anniston and Julia Robert's have both sported stunning pant suits on the red carpet in recent times. I ask you today to retract your decision. Support this young woman. Allow Mardi to walk on the football field as the individual she is, the individual, elected by her peers to represent the best of CHS Class of 2017.
