I feel your pain. The way the school does is literally protecting bad behavior. One common issue is how school officials treat student matters: guilty until proven innocent. This approach is completely against a persons fundamental right: innocent until proven guilty. Fortunately, your son is old enough to stand up for himself, especially with the support of witnesses. The part that most resonates with me is the need to develop a protocol for false accusations. Last year my son was falsely accused by a female classmate at NNHS. I felt that he was being treated as "guilty until proven innocent." Fortunately the circumstances (and witnesses) were so compelling that the matter was considered to be a "draw" by the dean and the charge was dropped. Still, the accuser knowingly wielded too much power over my son, yet suffered zero consequences for her despicable actions. When I pressed the dean about how to handle the accuser in a case of false accusations, she responded with "These rarely happen." Her response emphasizes why there needs to be a change at NPS.
