The technical review findings are farcical at best, dangerous at worst. Leaving that aside, Ireland's reputation for hospitality is world-renowned, and the atmosphere at our hallowed rugby grounds is second to none. Lets not discard the chance for an epic celebration of all things rugby.

The technical report said that all three could deliver, well then judge the bid on everything else ... there is no way we don't win! and host it

Msg to WRFU. Please do not give this bid to Ireland as we can't afford it. Our hospitals and schools are in disarray and despite what our Government say, the only people that are going to benefit out of Ireland hosting this event are big business and the corporates who are extremely versed in tax evasion and avoidance which means that little or no extra income will come back into the exchequer.

Have a think about the atmosphere in the stands and thousands of pubs in all corners a country more compact than South Africa or France. It's a gut-feel reaction, a sense about what's right for rugby, rather than relying on the economic impact reports which have underpinned WR's decision-making so far, which has emphasised commercial choice ahead of the feel-good factor. If smart they would give Ireland 2023 and immediately award South Africa the 2027 Rugby World Cup too.

The 1995 World Cup was a watershed moment in South Africa's political history, and, given the north and south of Ireland are united in their determination to host the 2023 tournament, this one could do similar things for Ireland.

Ireland RWC 2023 – Stand Up & Fight till you hear the Bell Dear Editor, Over 143 years of beating all in their way, developing a unique flowing style and flair of our own, true Grit, tenacity, determination, players winning through and not giving up the ghost mixed with bloody hard work and fair play has won Ireland through to the top table of World Rugby and now a chance to host the Rugby World Cup in 2023. Since Webb Ellis moment of sheer brilliance in picking up the ball at Rugby School in 1823, to the All-Ireland Irish Rugby Football Union of 1874, the Fédération Française de Rugby of 1919 and the South African Rugby Union of 1992, has a divided country united in Rugby not embraced the modern game. Since, professionalism in 1995 to adapt, overcome and go on to win three six nations, reform the four provinces of Ireland to compete and majestically win Six European cups and be part of reaching out and extending the hand of Rugby to Italy and South Africa to join the Celtic league’s ‘Rugby family’ in the interest of the future development of game of Rugby we all love. Interestedly, it was the French Republic, and the women of France who wove an Irish tricolour made from the finest French who presented the tricolour to Messrs’ Meagher, Smith O’Brien and O’Gorman in Paris and then back in Dublin, on April 15, 1848, Meagher presented this silk flag to the citizens of Ireland, and said: “The white in the centre signifies a lasting truce between the ‘orange’ and the ‘green’.” On reading the Rugby World Cup Technical Review Group’s report, and the clear points that have been written about and well covered in the news this past week, what the RWC have overlooked was distance; travelling from a game in Johannesburg to Cape Town is 1,398 km, Lille to Toulouse is 1,001 km from Limerick to Belfast 364 km via the M7 while stopping off in Dublin which is only 199 km and then on to Belfast a mere 163 km hop skip a
