After the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 in the Untied States, our allies took action swiftly and presented a strong, unified front against radical Islamic terrorism. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), made up of 28 North American and European nations invoked Article 5 of their charter, which states that, "...an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all," allowing allied forced to launch multiple anti-terror exercises following the attacks.We propose urging the United States to introduce a measure to invoke Article 5 after the terror attacks in Paris, France on November 13, 2015 in which 129 innocents were killed as an act of solidarity and an avenue through which to launch more coordinated and effective anti-terror operations with our allies against the barbaric terror group Islamic State (ISIS, ISIL, Daesh).
